Surprise of the week? Trey and Marcela Hillstrom made several appearances at the Tribeca Film Festival in support of Anesthesia, The Adderall Diaries, A Ballerina’s Tale and Les Bosquets. The latter is the documentary of a collaborative project Trey Hillstrom had a part in, working alongside the likes of Hans Zimmer and JR to compose music for the NYCB performance.

Despite skipping the red carpet on three occasions, the Hillstroms appearance at the premiere of Les Bosquets caused quite the ruckus. Instead of deferring interviews like normal, Marcela seemed quite comfortable at Tribeca as opposed to her last emergence at the 2015 Grammys.

On referring to her random burst of activity, songs and an unrated music video that could make Blurred Lines look family friendly, Marcela seemed quite chummy and open to answer inquiries on married life, work and supporting her husband. “I don’t think I owe anyone an answer for what came out in February. I am disturbed by the people who insist that my video is offensive. We live in a world where we promote and glamorize violence on a daily basis. However, I get [expletive] for showcasing two individuals in a happy marriage that's prosperous both emotionally and sexually? Get the [expletive] out of here.”

Marcela was addressing the concerns of a vocal minority who seemed concerned that the English songbird was promoting what even her mother says to be a “heavily obsessive and codependent love” between the two artists. Her unannounced cover One Way or Another: The February Rework remains hosted solely on Vevo due to content. While the video was the main production of work for Marcela in two years, Trey has been a lot more active. “I keep saying it, but I am just so happy that he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves. He’s working with great people like Pharrell, Zimmer and the Cuarons and I’m like yes! I want everyone to know his name and his art. He’s that great at what he does.”

Did you forget about Lykke Li, Mrs. Hillstrom? Les Bouquets is now showing at Tribeca. You can catch Marcela’s newest video after the jump.
